Pride University 2.0

A New Vision

In the fall of 2009 Barbara Reyna joined Pride as the new Director of Organizational Effectiveness and Development (OED). Something that quickly came to her attention was that Pride University, or PrideU was found by most employees as a valuable and resourceful website for access to online training, language training, and in some cases self registration for classroom training.

Based on her previous work experience Barbara knew that we could build upon the great reputation of Pride University and restart it as more than just the PrideU website, but a true corporate university. So without a lot of fanfare a strategy was developed to make Pride University more robust--more than just a website.

The Plan

Three areas were focused on in 2010 to enhance Pride University:

  1. Launching a new online learning system with eLearning courses that met business needs
  2. Developing a cornerstone leadership training program
  3. Revamping the Pride University website

A new learning system was launched in early 2010. The web address is https://prideuniversity.csod.com. Once you login you will be able to access more than 200 online courses in areas of leadership, management, and personal development, as well as software skills training. Many courses are also available in multiple languages. You can view the global leadership training calendar and for corporate employees, you can register online to attend a course. Other areas of the system are still being developed, such as the knowledge bank and employee forums.

The leadership training courses were reconstituted to align with Pride’s management competencies and targeted to a smaller audience. A third party was used to deliver some of the courses to lend expertise to the programs. These programs are still works in progress but feedback has been positive. Another program, Pride Fundamentals for Managers(PrideFM) was developed and launched as a cornerstone leadership program. There is another article available where you can read more about the recent launch of that program.

The third focus area is the new and improved PrideU website that you are now visiting. You should notice major changes from the previous version of PrideU. There is a new logo, there are now pages that have information from the key focus areas of OED, there are employee polls and a forum, and hopefully a much richer site that provides employees access to training and development information.

Please take some time to visit the different pages on the site, answer the poll question, leave some comments in the forum, and give us your feedback. Website are always evolving based on feedback and changing needs. So please let us know what you think and if there are any changes we could make we would love to hear from you.

Welcome to the new Pride University!
